Bob Marley’s Range Rover Up For Sale

The auctions of old Range Rovers can attract many buyers just because of the quality and make of the vehicle, but sometimes the identity of past owners can add some extra interest.

Indeed, one vehicle could be ‘loved a lot’ because its former owner was none other than the late Reggae legend Bob Marley. Classic Car Auctions are to sell off the Range Rover on March 26th at the NEC in Birmingham.

The vehicle is one of two Range Rovers said to have been owned by the famous Jamaican, with this one being bought in 1980, a year before the singer’s death.

It is, however, not in a great state and has been described as “ripe for restoration”, with the engine loaded in the back.

Whether that engine works well or not may be another issue and anyone buying the vehicle and fixing it up may want to take it to an expert on Range Rover engine rebuilds to get it back into tip-top condition and generate a ‘positive vibration’ when the ignition key is turned.

Simon Langsdale from Classic Car Auction said: “For a true Bob Marley fan who is also a petrolhead, owning this Range Rover will be something beyond price and is a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Indeed, anyone looking at fully restoring the Range Rover to its full glory may well say to themselves: “Don’t worry about a thing, because every little thing’s gonna be alright”.

After many years of mere ‘survival’ in a somewhat dilapidated state, ‘time will tell’ if the vehicle has a great future, to be seen cruising down the street when the ‘sun is shining’.

Other vehicles in the sale are in better condition but lack famous past owners, such as a Land Rover Defender 90 “that may never have seen a muddy field or a farm track”.
