Duke Of Cambridge’s Range Rover Up For Auction

If you’d like to be able to drive around like royalty, then Prince William and Kate Middleton’s former luxury Range Rover is due to be auctioned off at Bonhams next month.

Land Rover Owner International reports that the luxury 4×4 was originally given brand new to the Royal Household in 2013, courtesy of Land Rover’s VIP Department, and was then provided to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who used the SE Vogue model Range Rover as one of the personal vehicles.

It was subsequently sold on to a private collector in July 2020, and now, only having 38,420 miles on the clock and having a full service history, the L405 Range Rover, according to Bonhams, is in ‘excellent condition and drives very well’.

As a vehicle driven by royalty, the car is just as luxurious as you’d expect, with a Baltic blue exterior and espresso leather interior, as well as luxe add-ons, such as 20-inch alloy wheels, auto high beam assist and advanced park assist, as well as heated front and back seats, a panoramic glass roof and side steps.

Generally, ex-Royal Household vehicles have the registration numbers changed after they leave regal service, however, the auction house says this one is a ‘rare exception’.

The royal family are longtime fans of the British luxury car manufacturer, and the late Prince Philip adored his Land Rovers and had even commissioned a custom-made Land Rover to carry his coffin at his funeral.

For those interested, the Range Rover has been estimated to go under the hammer for between £30,000 to £40,000, when it is auctioned on 22 May.
