Land Rover Shows Off New Eight-Seater Defender

Large families will know how difficult it can be to find a car that fits their kids and car seats, but now that Land Rover has announced it is launching a new eight-seater Defender, they no longer have to worry.

The Defender 130 was taken for a spin in public for the first time at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed, which took place on the weekend of June 23rd to 26th.

Together with the larger vehicle, Land Rover exhibited its new Range Rover Sport, while Jaguar showcased its F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 and F-Type R 575PS at the event.

Rawdon Glover, managing director of Jaguar Land Rover UK, stated: “The Goodwood Festival of Speed is always one of the highlights of our calendar, and it’s a fitting reflection of the rate of advancement at Jaguar Land Rover that we’re able to present three global dynamic debuts at this year’s event.”

He said it was a “wonderful opportunity” for the public to see its new vehicles, enabling them to take a look at “the very latest innovations in British design” in such an exceptional venue.

Land Rover first debuted the Defender 130 at the end of May, with the vehicle boasting an extended body by 34cm and bigger interior space, totalling 2,516 litres.

It has three rows of seating, with two at the front, three in the middle and three in the back. Meanwhile, it still has the same off-road capability and articulations as smaller models.

The adventure model has an advanced Pivo Pro infotainment system, meaning it can navigate the driver anywhere in the world without a mobile phone signal. It also has a 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen, and an advanced Cabin Air Purification Plus system.
